Last Friday night, we went to dinner for Jackson's birthday. Maggie drank her bottle and fell asleep while we were at Los Cucos. When we got home, I changed her clothes and put her in her bed and she slept until 6:45!!!! YAY!!! We were VERY excited!! Saturday night she fell asleep at Aunt Alicia's around 9:45 and slept until 4:45....again VERY exicted. We just knew we were moving forward to sleeping all night.....and then Monday came.... Maggie got her 2 month shots, and she actually did pretty well. Nurse Cindy was awesome and did it very fast! She screamed each time, but quickly calmed down once mommy got to hold her. That evening she was a little fussy and didn't want me to put her down, and she woke up twice during the night. :( Well, she has continued to wake up more often during the night this week. Are we now going BACKWARD???? UGH!! Last night Jackson fed her at 1:30 and she woke again at 3. I changed her diaper and put her back in her bed and she of course SCREAMED!!! I fell back asleep and woke at 4:30 and she was sleeping. I just really hope this does not continue.
I go back to work on August 9th. I'm really dreading it! Being home for 11 weeks with hasbeen nice!! I'm super nervous because I'll be starting my new position and will really need to focus and do my best....when I know she is going to be on my mind the whole time! :( Another worry is getting to work on time. Tuesday I went in to meet and go over some valuable info. Well, I had to be there at 8:30. I woke up at 6:20 - showered and decided what to wear. Then Maggie woke up at 7 so I dressed her and fed her. Of course she fell back asleep before finishing so I put her down...blow dryed my hair...and she was up again....You know how this going....I dropped her off at mom's at 8:20!!!! I'm really going to have to work on my time management in the mornings. I hate being late to anything!
Anywho...we don't have plans for this weekend, which is nice! Hopefully it will rain and I can relax with my baby and hubby!!
Here are some pictures of our little monkey!! She acutally kinda looks like the monkey on her butt! haha

Mommy's First Vacation
This past Monday, my mom, aunt Becky, Alicia, Clay, Layton, Tiffany, and I went to New Braunfels for a few days. I was VERY nervous leaving Maggie for that long. Gladys, Jackson's grandma kept her during the day on Tuesday and my Granny kept her on Wednesday. Jackson had the nights all on his own!! I knew she was in good hand the whole time, but I still missed her and worried like crazy!!
We got to NB Monday night and had a yummy super at Clear Springs...and yes we had their famous onion rings! We woke up Tuesday morning and headed to Schlitterbauhn. Even though we were there early, we still had to wait 1.5 hours to ride Master Blaster! Aunt Becky, Tiffany, Clay, and I did the wait! I must say that even though the ride is maybe 1 min long.....it was worth it! Clay and I rode together and even caught some air on a few of the drops! haha We spent the morning between the two newer parks and decided to head to the main park at lunch time. Well....as we were boarding the tram, the lady tells us that some idiot crashed into a transformer and the main park was out of electricity! Just our luck!!! So we sat in the hot tub and had a drink and went around the lazy river another 10 times. By then both parks were PACKED and it was no fun anymore! My mom went and complained and they gave her a free voucher for each of us, and then we went and complained and got our money back! haha Yes, we screwed them! j/k That evening a bad storm blew through and knocked out the power at the campsite we were at. We quickly showered and headed to Gruene for dinner. Wednesday morning we woke up, had breakfast and headed to the river. We floated the Comal and it took about 3 hours. The water felt great! Usually it is unbearably cold...but I guess since it just rained, it felt great!! After the river, we headed back home!
Our vacation was short but very enjoyable!! Hopefully we will go back soon and use our vouchers! haha
Once I got home I cuddled with my sweet baby girl and visited with the hubs! He informed me that Maggie had been eating 12 oz between 6-9 and had been sleeping until 3:30am! Of course I was excited, but didn't believe him 100%....I figured she woke up and he just didn't hear her! NOPE....she did the same last night! Looks like our baby girl is starting to sleep longer and is getting closer to making it all night!! Whoo-hoo!!!
Tomorrow is Jackson's 31st birthday and Saturday Maggie will be two months! Time is flying by!! We go for her two month shots on Monday. I go back to work August 9th, and am going to miss her like crazy! :(
Below are some pictures that Alicia took last week! I"m in love with them!!

Motherhood after 7 weeks...
Maggie will be 7 weeks on Monday...and I'll say it again...time is flying by!
Last weekend we loaded up and headed to the bay for the 4th of July weekend. The weather was perfect! As for Maggie, night one was a little sleepless, but the days were GREAT! It was nice to get to hangout and relax with friends and family. On Sunday, Popo and Bez watched Maggie so Jackson and I could go out on the water. We all anchored in the pass and did a little swimming. However, when it was time to go, I climbed in the boat, helped my sister climb in the boat, and when I turned around to go to the front of the boat.....a wave hit and I FLEW to the bottom of the boat!! That's right....all you could see where my legs sticking up in the air!! Since I flew over the seats, I scratched my shin up pretty bad on one leg and I have a bruise the size of TX on the other thigh! Trust me....it's real pretty! haha We headed home on Monday morning and relaxed/slept the rest of the day.
Ok...let me back track for a second...the Wednesday before the 4th of July weekend, I noticed some bumps on Maggie's face. I assumed it was baby acne and worried no more about it. As the days went on, I noticed they weren't getting better. This past Tuesday, Mom and I went in to Richmond so she could get some home improvement items. I suddenly noticed that Maggie's face was really red and broken out. My first thought was it was the heat?! I took her out of her carseat/stroller so she could cool off. It got a little less red, but not really. Finally yesterday, I had had it. I called the doctor and took her in. Apparently she has cerebal?????? (cradle cap) and when the flakes land on the skin it causes a rash. Well, I haven't really noticed any flakes, but I guess I shouldn't aruge with the dr. So I'm suppose to wash her hair once a week with Celebrex or Selson Blue. Another thing Maggie has been battling is GAS!! OMG!! My poor baby will randomly start screaming at any given time and will scream until she toots! :( I feel so bad for her. I've been giving her Little Tummy drops, but those only help a little. Again, the dr. said to not change her food because this is normal and will last until she is about 3 months. Really??? That's a long time. He claims the crying is their way of "pushing" out the gas. So agian...I didn't aruge.
On a good note, she did weigh in at 8lbs 14oz (fully clothed)!! Doc made a comment about putting her on a diet....hopefully he was joking...but I didn't see a smile!
This weekend we are taking it easy! Jackson woke up with Maggie last night and I got a full nights sleep!! It was refreshing! First time since she has been born!!
Below are a few pics! Have a great weekend!
Proud Popo.....right before he fed Mags and she spit up ALL over him!!

5 Weeks
Miss Maggie turned 5 weeks on Monday! Wow...is she getting "old!"
On Friday, Miss Charlie and her mommy and Aunt Jen Jen came over to visit! Our little girls finally got to meet! It was so fun seeing them together, even though they just laid there...haha. Charlie is an absolute doll and I cannot wait to see/hold her again! I just love her!!
Last Saturday, Maggie spent the day at Aunt Alicia's house while mommy and daddy spent the day fishing and at the beach. It was nice to get out, but O how I missed my baby girl! There were times when I could feel anxiety approaching, but I had to keep telling myself that she was in good hands and Aunt Alicia had it under control! As for the fishing trip....I caught one little trout and that was it! Well except for the sunburn I caught! My silly hubby missed a huge spot on my back/shoulder when applying the sunscreen so I have a nice tan line!
On Sunday we weighed Maggie on my dads fish scales again and she came out at 8lbs!! Whoo-hoo! I'm really not that surprised considering that she wants 3-4oz every 2hours!! I swear she eats more than Clay!! haha
Father's Day weekend was good also! We decided to skip Sarah and Todd's wedding for fear of Maggie's behavior. (You know how those newborns are!haha ) Instead, Jackson, Maggie, Chad, Robin, Beverly, and I met my dad in Houston at the boatshow for a few hours. My dad has been working in Beaumont and was not going to be able to come in for Father's Day, so we took Father's Day to him! We had great time! Maggie slept the entire time in her stroller, which was nice, but Sunday she was not so great! She was really fussy and wanted to be held. So Jackson didn't have the best 1st Father's Day!
This weekend we are heading to the bay to celebrate the 4th of July. Aunt Alicia bought Maggie some super cute holiday outfits that she will be sporting! I will be sure to have Alicia take some pics to post!
O, speaking of pictures....yesterday Amanda Freeman took some ADORABLE pictures of Maggie!!! I just love them and cant' wait to see them all!! If you go to my facebook page, you can see a few. Amanda did a fantastic job and I recommend her to everyone!! Also, thank you to Leslie for going with us and helping out!! She too did a great job!
I would also like to send out huge CONGRATULATIONS to Leslie and Hank....they just found out this morning they are having a BOY!!! Another little boy for Miss Maggie to chase!!
When I first put her down, she was vertical on top of the pads.....then I woke up to this....
We love cousin Layton!
The sun was too bright so she covered her eyes!

3 weeks...and grew a little more!
Today I took Maggie to the doctor for a weight check. She weighed in at 6lbs 13.5oz....2ozs more than last week! The doctor was happy she gained, but she is still not to her 7lb birth weight. He wants me to continue to nurse and give the bottle for the time being. He wanted to send home some 24 calorie (no clue what that is) formula but they were out so he gave us two cans of Enfamil....which was nice considering I had to pay the $30 to weigh her!!!
Last Friday Jackson went to POC because he was fishing in a tournament on Saturday. So instead of staying home alone, Maggie, Aunt Alicia, Layton and I went to the bay. Maggie was really good! She slept good at night and on Saturday she laid in her bouncer ALL day outside - in the shade- while Alicia and I got a tan. I had plans to put her adorable watermelon swimsuit on her from Aunt Alicia, but she was so peaceful sleeping, I didn't want to bother her. I must say putting on a bikini wasn't too fun, but hey, I didn't see anyone. :) Jackson picked us up Saturday evening on his way home. Maggie didn't sleep that well Saturday night...but was good on Sunday....while mommy slept!
This weekend is Sarah Buss' wedding, which I REALLY want to go to, but not sure if we are going to make it. Since I'm still breastfeeding, it is kind of a pain to do so when out in public. I'm sure once I'm use to it, it won't be bad...but I'm still uncomfortable. When I'm at home, I just go topless while I feed....can't exactly do that at a wedding! haha
Below are a few pics from baptism and some that Alicia took! We entered the second picture of her in her baptizmal gown in the leader news photo contest.....

2 1/2 weeks and growing!
Monday was 2 weeks since my precious Maggie was born! It's hard to believe that she's been here for 2 weeks!! I swear it feels like yesterday she was kicking my belly and making an entrance into this world!
These weeks have been tiring but still the best two weeks ever!
Last Saturday, we baptized Maggie at St. Philip after 5pm mass. Her godparents are Alicia and Chad and Slade and Robin are Christian Witnesses.....however, we consider all four of them her godparents.
That morning, we cleaned house and prepared for dinner that night. Around 2pm I took a shower, and Jackson didn't understand while I was showering so early since church wasn't until 5. I had to explain to him that we are now on Maggie's schedule and not so much ours anymore! I guess guys don't understand that not only is mommy suppose to sleep while the baby sleeps, but they also need to get dressed at that time too! I woke Maggie up around 4:15 so I could dress her and head out the door by 4:45....well that didn't happen! Since she is soooo tiny and cannot fit into any of her clothes, the newborn size dress I was trying to put on her was not working out....it swallowed her! So mommy had to throw a cute onsie on her..and a bow...and head out the door in a rush!
We arrived to church as the church bell was ringing! Maggie slept through mass, which means she slept through her 5:30 feeding. So of course when I woke her up after mass to put her baptismal gown on her, she also wanted to eat. Well....that wasn't going to happen...we were on a schedule! Father Gary began the baptism and Maggie fussed a little here and there, but not bad. When it came time to pour the holy water on her, she didn't make a peep...in fact, I think she liked it! (I poured water on her head when giving her a bath that day and she didn't cry either!)
After baptism, we took lots of pictures...and fed her. Then everyone headed to our house for dinner. Jackson and I were both excited to have everyone there to help us celebrate. Well, almost everyone...my Memaw was not able to make it, due to falling that morning. :( After dinner I opened all of Maggie's wonderful gifts. She received a few rosaries, picture frames, money, diapers, jewelry...etc. She loves all her new goodies!!! Also, mommy and daddy enjoyed getting to visit with everyone....instead of just each other! haha Mommy even drank almost a whole beer! However...it was not that great!
Monday we had our 2 week check up with Dr. Dimmick. She weighed in at 6lbs 11oz and 19.5 inches long! Yay! She grew!! However, Dr. D really wanted her up to her birth weight of 7lbs. We go back next Monday for a weight check to see if she has gained anymore. Since I had a breast reduction 4 yrs ago and am not producing enough milk, I have been supplementing with formula. Well, Dr. D doesn't want me to do that once she is back to her birth weight. He doesn't want me giving her a bottle at all! This is scary to me and confusing! Scary because the first week home was rough because she was not eating enough and was losing weight and becoming dehydrated.....that is why we started the formula. Confusing because if I go back to doing that, she will lose weight once again...right? Dr. D is insistent that I am producing enough milk for her and for me not to worry about that. But the fact that she nurses on both sides for 15-20 mins each and then drinks 1.5-2oz from a bottle tells me I'm not giving her enough. I guess we shall see what happens....
Daddy is going out of town on Friday evening for a fishing tournament, so it looks like Maggie and I will be home alone! Well, we will have Annie the watch dog protecting us! Wish us luck!! haha
Below are some more pics from the past week! I'll post more from baptism as soon as I get them from Alicia.
