My Little Crawling Machine!

Miss Maggie has been growing and changing soooo much!! In early January she started army crawling, and got VERY good at it! We had to baby proof the house and never take our eyes off of her! haha In mid-February she began crawling the right way. Since then, life has REALLY changed!! She is super quick!! She goes from one end of the house to the other in no time. I know my house isn't big, but still....she gets around quick!!! She has also become the little climber. She is pulling up and pulling everything off the couch, coffie table..etc!
Below are some pictures from the past few months!

Christmas

A few months later...here is a post about our first Christmas!

Maggie LOVED Christmas! Christmas Eve we went to church and then to my dad's house to have Christmas with him and his side of the family. Maggie got lots of fun gifts from Popo & Bez, the Starys, the Hensleys, and all her Great-Aunts-Uncles, and cousins! She is so lucky!!

Christms morning we woke up, had a yummy breakfast and opened presents from Santa! Once again, Maggie was really into opening presents! She loved ripping the paper, and she only tried eating it once! However, Annie was kind of sad...until she got her gift from Aunt Robin and Uncle Chad!

finally got it open....

After opening gifts at home, we went to Granny's house to do lunch with Nana and her family. Once again, I got lots of fun gifts from everyone!!

Holiday Season

Yay! The holidays are here!!!!

Over Thanksgiving, Jackson and I went to NOLA! We had a great time and of course ate and drank tooooo much!

Last Friday started my two week Xmas vacation! On Friday we headed up to San Antonio with a wonderful group of friends. We had some drinks at Hard Rock, hurricanes at Pat O's- which might as well be called mind erasers because thats the effect they had on me- then we ended the night at Howl at the Moon. Needless to say I don't remember much, but the bruise on my knee and arm confirm that I fell off the bar stool!! O-well, haven't had a night like that in years!!
On Saturday we headed to Gruene. We took it easy and even had a nap before we went to the Jerry Jeff Walker concert! Again, we had a blast!! This yearly tradition is wonderful! As a group, we have been doing this since December 2003 and we will continue as long as he is playin!!
Sunday we made a quick stop at the outlet mall and then headed home!

This week has been great so far as well! Monday Maggie and I were bums, Tuesday I went Xmas shopping, yesterday I did some cleaning and today...well I'm in the recliner. And I must mention that even though I say I'm being a bum, that does involve having to chase my lil' roller around! Haha
Below are a few pics that I have taken lately! There will be many more to come soon!!

Merry Christmas everyone!!

The last few weeks....

I've been so bad a blogging! Ugh! Let's see what the last month has been like...
3 weeks ago we visited the Prochaskas in Austin. The boys went to Wurstfest and us ladies shopped!
On Sunday we went to Kyle to see Madison. She was hilarious! She is on the go and into everything like a typical one yr old! It was so great seeing her smiling face! Her first birthday is tomorrow and I wish we could celebrate with her. Most of all I wish her mommy and daddy were here with her.
Last weekend Jackson and I went to Vanderbilt with dad,Bev, clay, and Layton. We didn't shoot anything so I went back Saturday night and shot a hog. Sunday morning around 8am I let Annie out to potty and run. A few minutes later she was back screaming and covered in blood. A coyote attacked her!!!!! We rushed her to the vet and Dr. Dornak stitched her up and kept her over night. My poor baby has a lot of bites and was in a lot of pain. Dr. Dornak did a great job taking care of her. She came home Monday and was sore and tired. By the time Wednesday got her she was back to her old self, but still moving a little slow at times. I'm sooooo happy she is ok, but can't believe she escaped the mean coyote! The guys have been hunting in the evenings and have seen a few but too far to shoot. Hopefully we will get them this weekend!

What a month!

The last month has been absolutely crazy! As you all know we lost Jackson's brother Stan on September 21st. Well, last week we lost Jessica as well. We all pray that Stan and Jess have found the peace they needed and are now together for eternity. All the thoughts and prayers we have received are greatly appreciated. Please keep them coming....there is still a long road ahead.
With all that said, I'd like to answer the famous "What about Madison?" question...Maddie is with Amanda, Jess' mom. She is being well taken care of and is getting more love than anyone will ever know! Yes, Jackson and I have discussed taking Maddie into our home IF needed. However, like I said earlier, Maddie is being WELL taken care of and is with the people she knows and loves. We look forward to seeing her as much as possible and remaining in her life. She is such a beautiful sweet baby! I know Maggie an Maddie will have lots of fun together!! :)
So hopefully that will end all the EC rumors!

On a good note...miss Maggie is still growing and is a lot of fun! She turned 5 months last Sunday! Im not sure where the time is going! We nixed the pebbles costume for halloween and instead she is going to be a pumpkin...and a really cute one at that!
Below are some recent pics!
I hope everyone has a great weekend and a safe Halloween!!

Way Behind!!

I know...I know..it has been forever since I last blogged!! What can I say....life is BUSY!!!

Let me start with Labor Day weekend....we all headed down to the bay for the weekend. Nana kept Maggie Friday night and then she went to Aunt Sloane and Uncle Bill's on Saturday while mommy, daddy, Sammie Jo, and Jason went on a fishing adventure! Since the wind was blowing 100mph and we were in the aluminator...we couldn't go far or do much. But that was ok...we made do! My first cast of the morning, I caught a huge flounder! 18.5 inches 2.91lbs! Luckily we were in a tournament so that got us $300! About 1 minute later, Sammie Jo caught a keeper red fish!! As for the boys....all they caught was a buzz!! haha On Sunday, we all hung out at the house and played ladder golf and dominoes. That evening we sent all three grandchilren - Maggie, Layton and Clay- home with Popo and Bez and we headed down to the Bram's house to listen to Larry Joe Taylor. We woke up Monday morning and headed home to releave them of their babysitting duties! haha
As for the rest of September, we had a few wedding to attend, as well as my 10 year reunion!! I must say it was AWESOME seeing everyone!! We had a great time catching up and I do wish we could do it more often!!
Then, Wednesday, September 21st, Jackson got a phone call that no one EVER wants, his brother Stan had passed away. We spent the next few days/weekend traveling back and forth to Hutto/Georgetown. We had a memorial in EC that Sunday, which was really nice. Last Saturday, we attended another memorial in Austin for him. I must say that Jackson and I are so VERY thankful for all of the wonderful family and friends we have in our lives. All the phone calls, emails, texts, cards, etc. that we received with such kind comforting words are more appreciated than anyone will ever know. Stan as a great guy and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Maggie had her 4 month check up on September 26th. Along with that came ear piercing!! YIKES! I have never heard her scream that way!!! The pictures below show it well.....   She wighed in at 14lbs and 24 inches! That's right! My baby gained 4lbs in 2 months!! haha She finally has some little fat rolls too!!

Last Saturday Jackson and I stayed the weekend with Sam, Jason, and Charlie in ATX. Of course the Maggie screamed from LaGrange to the other side of Bastrop, then didn't go to sleep until 11:30!! That little turkey! haha Saturday morning we woke up and had a delicious breakfast prepared by Chef Samantha. While the boys were eating, Sam and I played with the girls. Since Charlie had rolled over earlier that week, I was wondering if Maggie could do it. I put her on her belly, BAM....she rolled over!!! Yay!! We were so excited, but she hasn't done it since! :(     We also began giving her green beans this week....boy does she love them!! It is sooo cute watching her eat them!!

Now October is here....wow time is flying!! This weekend I'm going to take Maggie to the pumpkin patch and then to our family reunion. Hopefully Sunday we will get to do nothing!! haha

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!  O, and I will try to blog more often....and the new filters on our school computer don't let me post on other blogs, but I enjoy reading them!! :)
